rupm 2013 race results

This is runners! If you’ve been wondering how well you raced during the Run United Philippine Marathon (RUPM 2013), well Runrio.com has released the official results for all the races based on gun time and chip time. You can download the results from the Runrio.com website.

For those who did well, give yourselves a treat. Coming from a runner who just did his first 42K marathon, I’m telling you YOU DESERVE A REWARD! As for us, who didn’t do pretty well…time for more serious training till our next marathon. And that training will start next week for me. 🙂

My race results are as follow:

  • Gun Time – 6:47:06
  • Chip Time – 6:46:11
  • @18.61K – 2:10:56
  • @35.5K – 5:14:22
  • @36.7 – 5:31:41

That means that it took me more than an hour to walk from K36.7 to K42. Too bad, how I wished that I was still able to stride then. I would have finished the race with a better time. At least less than 6 hours. A friend who did the 21K told me that I hit the so called “The Wall.” Well, I will have to research on that and how to conquer it next time.

Till my next marathon then!

Friendly reminders for all Run United Philippine Marathon runners

rupm environmental tip when running

The Run United Philippine Marathon 2013 is two weeks from. By now, I hope that everyone have done enough training to get that strong running form. But as we tackle the distances during the race, let’s all be reminded of our duties and responsibilities to the environment.

While paper cups and plastic cups may not be avoided on hydration stations, let’s all do our part and be responsible enough to throw them in the proper place. That means, don’t just drink the water and throw the cups on the street. Unilab Active Health will be providing large trash bins after the water stations where all paper cups should go.

Let’s enjoy the race and be mindful of the environment as well. We can do this runners, right?

run united philippine marathon

Just received a package containing a race bib and singlet. Yes, this is it! I’m officially registered for the Run Rio, Run United Philippine Marathon. I registered for the 42K event. Yes, it was a hasty decision. After conquering the half marathon of the recently concluded Milo Marathon, I just felt like doing a full 42K run. And I felt doing it this year, not next year because I might lose the interest in running again.

Yes, I’m out of my mind. But I’m pretty much confident that I can pull this one off. I’m not gunning for any personal record since this is my first 42K run. I’m just aiming to finish the race in the alloted time and see how long I could finish the whole 42K stretch. I might or might not finish the distance, but at least I can tell myself that I’ve tried.

So, from now on until October 6, 2013 – the serious training begins. Wish me luck folks!
